Who Tells The Story? - One of my earlier collages that helped establish my style with the heart cutouts dotted throughout the piece. I love the power and beauty of it and wanted it to scream of empowerment and visibility for black women. The irony of it was that the magazine I cut the images from was filled with white women page to page but here everything revolves around them. The new 'story' created here is a narrative in which black visibility is the norm, not for done a quota or profits.
