Tate Collective: Black History Month

My piece (Black-)British: Locating History, discusses the legacy of colonialism. It bends the boundaries that define black identity. I attempt to do this through juxtaposition. For instance, with images of a white-British woman wearing the Yoruba ‘gele’ headtie, or a medieval clerk writing against the backdrop of an ‘adiré’ inspired repeat pattern.
